About Acupuncture

Acupuncture has its roots in traditional Chinese medicine, with a history spanning thousands of years. It involves placing very fine, sterile, single-use needles at specific points on the body. Traditionally, these points are described along pathways called meridians, associated with the flow of qi, or vital energy. Modern research explores how acupuncture affects the nervous system, local tissues, and pain signalling.

Your concerns, comfort, and goals guide your care at Oasis Wellness Retreat. Whether you're seeking support for ongoing pain or recurring headaches, we begin by understanding what brings you in and what you hope to achieve.

Acupuncture may help manage lower back and neck pain, knee pain associated with osteoarthritis, tension headaches, and migraine frequency. Your acupuncturist will assess whether treatment is appropriate for you. Results vary, and acupuncture can complement other care you receive.

Your first visit includes a conversation about your health history, symptoms, and goals, followed by an assessment and your first treatment. Your practitioner will explain the process before beginning. During treatment, you may notice a brief pinch, mild aching, or tingling. Let your practitioner know how you feel so they can respond to your comfort throughout the session.

At Oasis, your treatment is tailored to your health history and current concerns, with time to ask questions and discuss your care.
