About Orthopedic Assessment
When a concern needs closer attention, our Orthopedic Assessment add-on provides dedicated time to understand your symptoms and guide your care, while preserving the time booked for your massage.
Consider adding it for a new or recurring concern, discomfort with movement, or when your therapist recommends a more detailed assessment. Depending on your needs, this may include observing posture and movement, checking joint range of motion, assessing muscle strength, and performing relevant orthopedic tests.
Your therapist will explain the purpose of each test, what it involves, and what you may feel before asking for your consent. You're welcome to ask questions, decline any part, or pause at any time.
Please wear or bring comfortable clothing, such as shorts and a T-shirt or tank top, that allows easy movement. Your privacy and comfort are respected throughout. A relevant assessment is already included in your massage appointment. This add-on allows extra time when your concerns need a closer look.

Common Questions
Orthopedic Assessment FAQ.
The orthopedic assessment at Oasis is $60 for thirty minutes. It is a standalone appointment that typically leads to a more targeted treatment plan for subsequent massage sessions. We are located in Edmonton.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely, such as athletic wear or shorts and a t-shirt. Unlike a massage session, you will not be under draping during the assessment.
If you have a specific complaint, such as recurring shoulder pain, limited hip mobility, or chronic lower back discomfort, an assessment before your first massage session can save time and produce better results. It gives your therapist a clear starting point rather than spending the first session investigating.
The assessment is focused on evaluation rather than treatment. Some therapists may demonstrate a relevant stretch or technique during the session, but the thirty minutes are primarily devoted to testing and explanation. Treatment is scheduled as a separate session based on the assessment findings.
