About TMJ Massage
Jaw tension can make everyday movements feel uncomfortable, from chewing a meal to opening your mouth wide. TMJ massage gives focused attention to the muscles around the temporomandibular joint, where your lower jaw meets your skull.
At Oasis, your therapist begins by asking about your symptoms, any clenching or grinding, and relevant dental or medical care. Assessment may include observing jaw movement and checking the surrounding muscles to guide treatment.
Your massage may include the jaw, cheeks, temples, neck, and shoulders, with pressure adjusted to these sensitive areas. Where appropriate, a therapist with specific training may offer work inside the mouth using gloves. This is explained beforehand and requires your separate, explicit consent.
The approach remains gentle and responsive, with time to pause or adjust throughout. Your therapist may also discuss suitable home care or recommend a dental or medical assessment when your concerns need further attention.

It can. Intraoral work allows your therapist to reach the deep jaw muscles that cannot be accessed from outside the face. It is always performed with gloved fingers and only with your consent. If you prefer to skip intraoral work, your therapist can still provide effective relief through extraoral techniques.
For chronic jaw tension and grinding, every two to four weeks tends to produce the best results. If you are in an acute flare-up with significant pain, weekly sessions for the first two to three weeks can help bring the tension under control before moving to a maintenance schedule.
Yes. Many tension headaches originate from tight muscles in the jaw, temples, and base of the skull. TMJ massage directly addresses these muscles. Clients frequently report reduced headache frequency and intensity after a series of sessions.
